Strymon pedals take Program Change for preset recall and Control Change for parameters, over 5-pin DIN.
Points that come up often:
The pedal has a MIDI channel setting of its own, and it has to match the channel the controller sends on. A pedal that ignores everything is usually on another channel.
Preset numbering on the pedal and Program Change numbering in the controller can be offset by one, depending on which the pedal counts from. Send PC 0 and see which preset lands.
Expression over MIDI CC and a physical expression pedal can fight each other when both are connected.
